The Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989), was passed by the Parliament of Ghana in 2019 and assented to by the President the same year, to provide a constitutional right to access information held by public institutions.
The District Assemblies Common Fund recognizes the importance of the RTI law to foster a culture of transparency and accountability in public affairs, particularly in a democratic society like Ghana. Our RTI implementation plans and procedures are guided by five fundamental principles relevant to access to information. These principles are legal guarantees of access to information, proactive disclosure, and implementation of access to information procedures, adherence to best international standards, and respect for individuals' right to privacy.

In accordance with Section 18 of the RTI Act, 2019, an application to access information within The District Assemblies Common Fund can be made in writing or orally.

Provide identification of the applicant.

Indicate the form and manner of access required.

To be signed by the applicant.

State the name of the applicant, and an address to which a communication or notice can be sent.

Addressed to the Information Officer of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF)

Contain sufficient description or particulars to enable the information to be easily identified.

State the capacity of the applicant to the satisfaction of the information officer to whom the application is made, if the application is made on behalf of another person.

Pursuant to Section 75(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2019(Act 989), the general public is hereby notified that Parliament has approved the fees and charges related to the cost associated with access to information. The fees and charges approved by Parliament can be found in the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provision) Act, 2022 (Act 1080). Below are the details of the approved fees to cover the cost associated with application for, or access to, information.
